Our Mission
Sunshine Group Investments is a privately owned company, established by James Dack in 2014. It aims to provide financial assistance to organisations and charities that make a positive difference in the community. SGI is driven by two strong passions of Managing Director James Dack. The first is ensuring that young people have every chance to get off to a great start in life and the second is to ensure that adults who are struggling have a real and tangible source of support.
SGI uses its resources, network and expertise to raise funds to assist in delivering worthwhile initiatives. We work towards facilitating opportunities for young people and adults to be happy, healthy and productive members of our community. By paying it forward and being committed to helping wherever possible, Sunshine Group Investments hopes to influence other individuals and organisations to do the same.
Sunshine Group Investments does not seek or hold funds from potential donors or supporters – we do however encourage people to give directly to charities they believe will make a positive difference.
About James Dack
James began his career as a porter at St Vincent’s Hospital. After being given an opportunity to prove himself James was promoted to a clerical position within the hospital. After two years he was promoted to a role in the payroll department. He rose inexorably through the ranks and after three years became the manager of a 2500 strong payroll. After four years in this role James was poached by the industrial relations division of the Department of Health to run the NSW public hospital payroll system.
James left the health sector and became a founding member of a Sydney real estate company. From humble beginnings he helped it to grow to being one of the most successful real estate companies in Australia., proving to be their leading sales agent 19 years in a row. In 1992, he was selected as one of the nine most successful agents in Australia awarded by REI of Australia also winning the REI of NSW Award for Excellence in Residential Sales. In 2007, The REI of NSW bestowed James with one of its highest honours – the John Greig OAM Community Service Award. James is the only person in Australia to have won both awards.
James is a Life Governor of Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW having served the organisation for over forty years. In 2008 he was presented the highly esteemed award “Champion for Youth”, by the NSW Police Commissioner. James has been appointed to the board of directors of PCYC with business leaders such as Nicholas Moore and Deputy Police Commissioner Nick Kaldas.
James left the Real Estate industry at the height of his career to start Sunshine Group Investments. He did so because he is committed to empowering those who do good in the community, be it through business, charity or individual citizenship.
